Young ladies whose tastes run to fine things — from sweeping floor-length dresses and beribboned  hats to a lace-covered table beautifully set with Grandmother's china and crystal candlesticks — will find that this elegant affair fits them like a glove. Dear friends will be delighted to receive lace-glove invitations beckoning them to an afternoon of high-spirited fun.

Arriving to find a setting of near-Victorian splendor, with an abundance of ferns, flowers, wicker and lace, guests will be whisked off to the milliner's, where they'll receive a broad-brimmed straw hat and all the trimmings and be given the chance to design the bonnet of their dreams. The next stop is the "wardrobe," where they'll find a selection of elegant dresses, gloves, feathers, fake furs and "jewels."

When they emerge in just the right combination of finery, they'll be ready for a walk down the runway in the "Sunday Best" fashion show. Other games designed especially for this well-bred group include A Rose by Any Other Name, One Lump or Two Relay, Queen of Hearts Croquet (complete with flamingos and hedgehogs) and Mind Your Manners.

With manners as polished as the silver, the ladies will be ready for a spot of tea. The sparkle in their eyes will match the sparkling table, set with a lace cloth, silk roses, garlands of satin ribbons and pearls, real china cups and saucers and pastel paper napkins.

Send your guests home with a lace bag full of theme-related favors such as hair ribbons, dress-up beads, stick-on gem earrings, a candy lipstick and pastel twist shoelaces.
